COURSE OBJECTIVES
1. Demonstrate understanding of evidence based care of individuals, families, and communities in community-based
settings. This includes decision making necessary for community assessment, stakeholder collaboration, and nursing
interventions that support the improvement of health outcom
2. Demonstrate information management and data collection, including use of epidemiologic methods that support the
understanding of disease conditions, outbreaks, and health promotion/disease prevention strategies.
3. Describe leadership principles, delegation, and prioritization strategies essential to care of individuals, families, and
communities in community-based settings.
4. Demonstrate effective collaboration and communication strategies with individuals, families, and communities and
stakeholders in the community-based setting.
5. Demonstrate culturally congruent professional values inherent to nursing practice, while caring for self, using ethical,
moral and legal judgment within community-based settings
